15 Healthy Ingredients To Buy On Your Next Grocery Store Trip!

Take a peak into my grocery cart to see what foods I buy on a weekly basis to make clean, healthy meals!

This list will vary from week to week depending on the recipes I’m making, but these are the types of foods I consistently buy. There are also plenty of foods I eat that aren’t included on this list, so don’t think of this as a strict must-follow! Just here to help give you ideas. I stick to buying real, whole foods (because if I buy the box of Cheez Its, I will eat the box of Cheez Its within two nights ya know? You know).

Also like yes I’m hungry & can eat a lot but keep in mind I’m not buying all of these items every single week. I buy them when I’m running low and need to restock! Ok let’s get into it.

CARBS- Fruit:

  • Berries
  • Bananas (to freeze for smoothies)
  • Oranges, Apples, Pears, Clementines, etc. depending on meals (I love putting fruit in salads!)
  • Lemons

CARBS- Veggies:

  • Spinach (to add to smoothies)
  • Spring Mix and/or Kale (if salad is on this week’s menu)
  • Sweet potato, Zucchini, Squash, Asparagus, Green Beans, Peppers, etc. depending on meals
  • Carrots, Celery, Snap Peas, etc. depending on what snacks I want that week

CARBS- Grains:

  • Quinoa
  • Brown Rice
  • Oats
  • Pasta (like Banza, Brown Rice Pasta, or Quinoa Pasta)
  • Ezekiel Bread

PROTEIN:

  • Fish (typically Salmon, Mahi Mahi or Shrimp)
  • Organic, Grass-Fed Chicken
  • Organic, Cage-Free Eggs
  • Beans (if I’m feeling like having a #plantbased week)

FATS:

  • Avocado
  • Coconut Yogurt (Check the label! I go for the ones with no added sugar like So Delicious)
  • Hummus (if I’m having it with veggies for a snack)

Other Pantry/Fridge Fillers:

  • Marinara Sauce (Check the label! Again, I stay away from added sugar)
  • Some type of bar to have as a snack- RX is my favorite! (You get the label game by now)
  • Almond Milk
