The 6 Lip Products You Need in Your Collection ASAP

best lipsticks, lipstick review, liquid lipsticks, jeffree star cosmetics, MAC, colourpop ultra satin liquid lipsticks, buxom lip glosses, urban decay vice lipstick

I have a lipstick problem but I’m not afraid to admit it ok!!! I. love. lipstick. It’s easily one of my favorite makeup items because it instantly brings life to your face & there’s so many colors, formulas and product types!

If you want to hear a little secret about how I apply my lipstick, listen to the Ask Abbey Podcast Episode #4 where I chat through all my makeup application tips & tricks

I got to a point in my life where I realized I had more lipsticks than there are weeks in a year so I decided it was time to chill tf out & declutter to only my absolute favorites. When I find a brand or formula I like, I will buy it in multiple colors because why not. Here are the ones that made my cut:

1. MAC Lipsticks

They’re just so good. They have a lot of different formulas so they have the girl who likes a super matte lip covered & they have the girl who likes a super sheer, glossy lip covered (plus everyone in between). The shade range is also to die for & tbh my heart flutters a little every time I swatch MAC lipsticks because I want them ALL (are we seeing the problem now?).

Favorite Shades: Velvet Teddy, Modesty, Half ‘N Half, Fast Play

2. Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstcks

I have a hard time dealing with a lot of liquid lipsticks because they feel so dang dry on my lips. However, THESE liquid lips are a dream. The consistency is amazing- thin & a little bit watery but with a ton of pigment. They dry down matte but don’t look like your lips are cracked & crusty (ew). My favorite way to wear them is with a sheer gloss over top!

Favorite Shades: Mannequin, Celebrity Skin, Christmas Cookie (never enough nudes, k?)

3. ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Satin Liquid Lipsticks

For similar reasons to the Jeffree Star liquid lips, these are also insanely amazing. Make sure you get the satin formula because they dry down with a nice satin appearance vs. their matte formula which gives me Sahara Desert vibes on my lips, tbh. They have a huge selection of wearable colors, and also… they’re $6.50. Excuse me?!

Favorite Shades: Alyssa, Echo Park, Magic Wand, Calypso (with a tan and a nice juicy nude gloss over the top oooohhh my gosh)

I show swatches of all my favorite shades on my lips HERE!

4. ColourPop Cosmetics Creme Lux Lipstick

Again, make sure you get the Creme formula in their lipsticks instead of the Matte Lux Lipstick because I was not loving how the matte formula felt on my lips. If you’re super into mattes you may love them because they do feel thin to wear, but I just didn’t love how they look on me, personally. The Creme formula is great & extremely pigmented. Also, $7.00….? I don’t get it, but I’m not complaining!!!

5. Urban Decay Vice Lipstick

The pigment in these lipsticks is insane. They also have over 100 colors which is even more insane with different formulas so you’re 100% going to find something that you love. If you’re trying to find me in Sephora or Ulta, walk over to this display because I’m probably swatching them all over my arm. Just sayin’.

Favorite Shades: Naked, Manic, Trip

6. Buxom Full On Lip Polish

THIS IS MY FAVORITE GLOSS FORMULA OF ALL TIME!!! Omg I just love. It gives your lips that perfect amount of shine without being too sticky or goopy. If you don’t like the minty sensation of lip plumpers then you might not like these, but I find it fades after a few minutes & I’m not mad at a little tingle on my lips.

Favorite Shades: Brown Sugar, White Russian

I will be honest I’m regretting writing this a little because I currently have 5 tabs worth of lipstick open in my browser. Pray for me. And send me your selfies wearing these products.
